How I Met Radio 1190:
In the summertime after finding out that I had been accepted to CU Boulder, I researched radio stations online knowing that I wanted to be involved with college radio. Jessi and I emailed back and forth for a while during the summer, and during the first week of school I made my way to the basement of the UMC as a scared, alone, little freshman and I haven't left since.
First Album Purchased:
Ever???? Oh yeesh, first album ever purchased had to have been Abba when I was about five years old. I was the world's smallest dancing queen, I'm pretty sure.
First Concert:
My first concert ever was the Strokes in fourth grade with a friend from home. We were both unhealthily obsessed with the band, and our mothers agreed to take us as we continued to think we were "hardcore." Too bad we didn't realize that the instrumentals overpowered Julian Casablancas' voice as he drunkenly mumbled lyrics and stumbled about stage with a cigarette and beer in hand.
Favorite Concert:
I hate this question- it is so incredibly hard to answer. At this point in my life, I have been to an unhealthy amount of shows and cannot even think straight. Hmmmm, I would have to go with my first time seeing Animal Collective right before Merriweather came out, and while they were still (sort of ) unknown. Seeing them all blown up at Lollapalooza this summer was the low light of my life. Super lame. I would also have to go with Bright Eyesmy freshman year of high school (that brought me to tears). Since I have been on street team, I have been to a bunch of shows, and have to say that Dan Deacon at Rhino was the best night of my life.
Preferred Musical Styles &/or Artists

Obviously I like indie music, because really, who doesn't. Right now I am currently in a HUGE folk and grunge phase after just coming out of my electro phase. Some of my favorite bands include animal collective, the misfits, discovery, grizzly bear, yeasayer, elvis perkins, department of eagles, edward sharpe, black lips, dr. dog, and the dodos. I could go through my musical library, but I will spare you; the list goes on.

Most Desperately Desired Musical Reunion:
Hands down Neutral Milk Hotel. Gotta have it.
Recommended Media:

Everyone should read the Anarchist Cookbook. Even though they WILL tell the government and they WILL find you. AND your bombs.
