CD of The Month: Zentropy

Short and sweet is the name of the game on Frankie Cosmos’ coming out debut, “Zentropy”, a darling collection of twee pop nuggets to lift your spirits this spring. Cosmos has already made a name for herself through the dozens of miniature releases she’s put up on her bandcamp, but “Zentropy” is her most cohesive collection yet. Totaling at a whopping 18 minutes, Zentropy’s 10 songs evoke the lo-fi aesthetic of northwest 90’s indie rock and the delightful cadence of mid-2000s folk. Tied in with Cosmos’ knack for sentimental yet upbeat wordplay, “Zentropy” is a hugely promising record from an artist who’s just beginning to come into her own.

Out on Double Double Whammy Records, Frankie Cosmos’ “Zentropy” is Radio 1190’s CDOTM for April.  Radio 1190 would like to thank Bart’s Music Shack for their continued support of the CD of the Month Club.
