CD Of The Month: Natural Child

The snow is finally starting to melt, and Natural Child’s newest release for Burger Records is the perfect soundtrack for ushering spring into Colorado. On “Dancin’ With Wolves”, Natural Child sound more assured than ever before, adapting a mix of styles to fit their jolly, goofball brand of hillbilly psych.

Flaunting their Nashville roots with pride, the songs on “Dancin’ With Wolves” manage to turn decades of country, R&B, and rock n’ roll history into something that still sounds fresh and uplifting. While many similar groups are content to simply rehash the sounds of the 60’s, Natural Child’s approach is simultaneously innovative and calm. Driven by subtly textured guitars alongside old school pedal steel and keyboards, Natural Child’s sound is relaxed, yet purposeful, making “Dancin’ With Wolves” one of the more memorable garage records of the year so far.

Out on Burger Records, Natural Childs’ “Dancin’ With Wolves” is Radio 1190’s CDOTM for March.  Radio 1190 would like to thank Bart’s Music Shack for their continued support of the CD of the Month Club.
