Hi, sorry I’m late with my usual Monday blog but computer time has been limited in DJ Alishaland, so…
Here’s My High Five for the week:

1)1190 is awarded “Best Non-Commercial Radio Station” again! Thank you Westword for continually loving the variety of music and heart we put into our programming… every one of us! I’ll continue to DJ at 1190 until another radio station in our area can prove to me that they’re music is consistently better.
2)This is Not Spinal Tap TOURS: Ummm awesome! Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer are doing a 40-city tour as “This is NOT Spinal Tap: Unwigged and Unplugged” playing songs from all of their brilliant projects over the years. And yes, they’re coming through Denver, so get your ticket! You’ll get songs from Spinal Tap, A Mighty Wind and I even heard in an interview with them yesterday that they might even play songs from Michael McKean’s days as Lenny and the Squigtones from Laverne and Shirley (maybe)! DEETS: April 29 at Paramount in Denver!
3)Stereo Total & Leslie and the Lys at the Bluebird: I went to see this show at the Bluebird on Friday night and it was so fun! I couldn’t stop dancing long enough to take pictures, but I did take some pictures beforehand as I was walking to the venue. Before I get into this, I just want to say that Stereo Total are adorable, fun in concert and actually played all my favorite songs, but I definitely like their music on record better. However, I do LOVE seeing Leslie and the Lys in concert as opposed to sitting through their records. This is my third time seeing them (we worked together a few years back so we’re kinda acquaintances and chat when they come through town). But I must say that Leslie and the Lys are getting better and better in concert with more gimmicks and stage effects than ever! Just youtube them and see if you don’t know what I’m talking about. Oh yeah, so I took some pictures of Leslie and the Lys’ awesome new tour bus that I spotted parked in the cleaners parking lot across from Bluebird! They were taken on my phone so the quality isn’t the best, but man was I laughing my arse off while taking these!

4)Finally watched Religilous! Bill Maher’s satirical documentary on religion around the world was fun to watch and at times ruthless as he interviews people who are mad about their religion! I admire his ability to just say “c’mon” to people when he’s interviewing them about their beliefs like “do you really believe a man survivied living in a fish for three days?”
5)Condo F*cks: The new Yo La Tengo side-project, or is it?! Okay it is, but they like the allure of creating new characters for this new project of theirs and I can’t get enough. We’ve had the album in rotation for about a month now and it was released last Tuesday on Matador.
Have a great day! <3
