I finally got to see Houses at the Hi-Dive last night, a local supergroup who everyone has been talking about lately. They were really awesome live, probably helped by the fact that there were 8 people on stage. There seems to be a direct correlation between number of band members and amount of fun had on stage. I was also happy to see Lance there from The Flat Response recording the show. He puts up tons of live recordings of local and national bands on his site that all sound great. One of 1190′s favorites right now, Cryptacize, have three different show up there and there’s also a few older shows from Houses so you can experience them live yourself. Lance has put together an incredible resource for great music, be sure to check it out!

Thursday, March 12th, 2009There are two pretty new local supergroups with upcoming shows I’ve been getting really excited about!
HOUSES
Houses is an indie-pop group with members of Widowers, Blue Million Miles, Hearts of Palm, Harpoontang and a bunch of others. They’ll be at the Hi-Dive on Friday March, 20th opening up for other local bands D. Biddle and Everything Absent or Distorted. Definitely check out this show because D. Biddle shows are few and far between these days.
SNAKE RATTLE RATTLE SNAKE
This band features members of Bad Luck City, Monofog, Mr. Pacman and Hawks of Paradise. They’re so secret and hip there’s not much info about them to be found on the interweb. They’ll be at the Hi-Dive also on March 26th opening up for Ideal Fathers and Lion Sized. Don’t miss them either!
