It was great to have McAbee do a Q&A after the screening (in which it was a double-feature alongside his film The American Astronaut). He talked about what it was like to cast and work with his young daughter in the film, writing the songs and why he’s inspired by the futurism of yesteryear (think 50s sci-fi).
My hope is that if you missed the Colorado premiere last night that you’re at Starz in Denver seeing it right now. Lucky for you he’s releasing the film as webisodes and you can watch the first one right here-
Have a great weekend and happy viewing,
djAlisha.
PS: Oh and here’s a snippet from The American Astronaut. The quality from this clip doesn’t give the film justice, so if you haven’t seen The American Astronaut, support indie film-making and buy it directly from Mr. McAbee:
PSS: I would like to say the film world needs more Cory McAbee’s but I would be happy with McAbee making lot’s of films for our viewing pleasure! Now only if some rich producer would exploit McAbee’s genius by putting some cash forward so he can create the long-awaited Werewolf Hunters of the Midwest.
