Atmosphere at the Boulder Theater

Last Thursday night at the Boulder Theater the limelight rap-group Atmosphere made a stop on their tour and dominated the stage. A number of openers warmed everyone up with what I would call “socially conscious”  music, stirring the inner rebel in every audience member.

Pumped up crowd.

First was the solo artist Carnage, who played a solid set and managed to get the crowd riled up early on in the night. After that was I Self Divine, a larger group of rappers that really got the energy pumping in the theater. Their songs touched on topics of social difference. Before playing their song “Exist to Remain” lead man Chaka Mkali dedicated the song to those of the LGBT community. The crowd was quick to learn Mkali’s songs and was able to sing them right back to him.

Last to take the stage was the main act of the night, Atmosphere. Sean Daley had a welcoming and friendly stage presence, which compliments his pleasantly easy-going music. This is when the audience really was excited and knew the words to all of his songs. Atmosphere seemed determined that the music be heard a mile away from the theater. Their hit song ”Sunshine” earned the most cheers. All in all it was a wonderful night for any fan of Atmosphere, rap, or awesome music!
